Client portal

A private portal for your clients and tenants

Switch on the portal and invite a client or tenant by email. They set their own password and sign in to a private page with only what concerns them: their matters, the key dates, the documents you share, and their invoices with a PDF copy and a Pay now button.

The problem it solves

How most chambers do it today

Clients call or send WhatsApp messages to ask for the next date, request a copy of a document they were sent months ago, or ask for the account details to pay. Each request pulls a lawyer or clerk away from the work, and documents shared in chats get lost in the client’s phone.

What changes with LawKona

LawKona gives each client and tenant a private, always-available view of their own matters, so they can check progress, find a document, or pay an invoice without calling the chamber. Your team’s notes and discussions stay private.

In practice

A landlord who lives abroad. The chamber and people are illustrative; every step is how LawKona works today.

  1. Chief Okonkwo lives in London and owns the Lekki building. The chamber has switched on the portal in Settings, and invites him by email.

  2. He follows the link, sets his own password, and signs in. He sees the tenancy matters for his flats, the key dates, and the documents the chamber has shared.

  3. When the chamber’s invoice is ready, it appears in his portal with a PDF copy and a Pay now button. He pays from his phone.

  4. He stops calling for updates, and the chamber’s internal notes and discussions never leave the workspace.

How it works

  1. 01

    Switch on the portal

In Settings, turn on the client portal for your chamber.

  2. 02

    Invite a client or tenant

Send an invitation by email. They follow the link and set their own password — you never handle it.

  3. 03

They sign in to their own page

Clients and tenants see only the matters, key dates, and documents that concern them. Your team’s notes and discussions stay private.

  4. 04

    Invoices and Pay now

Each invoice shows its status with a PDF copy, and a Pay now button for anything still owed.

Who uses it

  • Client

Their matters, key dates, shared documents, and invoices in one private place, at any hour.

  • Tenant

Their own tenancy dates, documents, and invoices — nothing about anyone else — on top of the notices and rent-start messages they get by email and WhatsApp.

  • Principal and team

Fewer update calls, and documents and invoices delivered under the chamber’s name instead of through chats.

Why it helps your chamber

  • Fewer calls asking for updates

Clients see their matters and the next dates themselves, at any hour, from their phone.

  • A more professional client experience

Documents and invoices arrive in one secure place under your chamber’s name, instead of scattered across chats.

  • Invoices paid sooner

Every invoice in the portal has a PDF copy and a Pay now button.

Free, Solo, Practice, and Chambers. Free for 1 lawyer and 3 properties, no card needed.

  • Reminders and alerts

LawKona works out every date on the file and reminds the right people ahead of time — the lawyers by email, tenants by email and WhatsApp. The chamber stops missing dates, and tenants stop saying nobody told them.

  • Billing and payments

Turn time logged on a matter into an invoice, send it as a PDF or a payment link, and let clients pay online in Naira. No more forgotten hours, or checking bank alerts to work out who has paid.

  • Property and tenancy

A register of every building and unit your landlord clients own, with private application links for new tenants. No more caretaker notebooks, ID photos in chats, or guessing which flat is vacant.

Client portal questions

Can a client see other clients’ matters?
No. Each person sees only what is linked to them. The portal sign-in is separate from your chamber’s workspace.
What if they forget their password?
They reset it themselves from the portal sign-in page with a link sent to their email.
Does the portal cost extra?
No. The client portal is included on Free, Solo, Practice, and Chambers.
Does the client need to install anything?
No. The portal opens in any web browser, on a phone or a computer.
