Legal templates and the chamber editor
Pick a template — a LawKona starter or one of your chamber’s own precedents — and LawKona fills in the party names, the property address, and the dates already on the matter. Finish the draft in the chamber editor in your browser, then download it as a Word (.docx) document in your chamber’s house style.
The problem it solves
How most chambers do it today
Drafting usually starts by opening last year’s agreement, saving a copy, and retyping names, addresses, and dates — hoping none of the old client’s details are left in. Drafts then travel by email and WhatsApp as “final”, “final 2”, and “final final”, and nobody is sure which version the client agreed to.
What changes with LawKona
LawKona turns the details already on a matter into a first draft and gives the chamber one place to finish it. The draft stays on the matter, the other side can comment through a private link, and the final comes out as a clean Word document.
In practice
A tenancy agreement for Flat 4. The chamber and people are illustrative; every step is how LawKona works today.
After approving the new tenant of Flat 4, the associate opens the matter and chooses the chamber’s own Lagos tenancy agreement precedent.
LawKona fills in the landlord, the tenant, the property address, and the lease dates from the file.
She amends the rent review clause in the chamber editor. The landlord wants to suggest wording, so she sends him a private draft link; he enters his name, and his edits are recorded.
When the wording is agreed, she exports the final .docx in the chamber’s house font, with the principal’s signature embedded.
How it works
Pick a template
Choose from LawKona starters for Lagos, the FCT, and Osun, or from your chamber’s own precedents — upload a .docx and tag it by matter type and state.
Generate onto the matter
LawKona merges the party names, the property address, dates, and other details on the file into the draft.
Amend in the chamber editor
Edit headings, clauses, and lists in the browser. If your connection drops, the draft is kept on your device until you are back online.
Share a draft link if you need input
Send a private link so a client or the other side can edit the body by entering their name — no account needed, and every edit is recorded.
Export the final
Generate the final document as .docx in your house font, with your chamber signature or stamp if you choose.
Who uses it
Associate or pupil
A filled-in first draft in minutes, and one place to finish it.
Principal or partner
The chamber’s own precedents and house style used on every document.
Client or the other side
A private link to edit a draft by entering their name — no account needed.
Why it helps your chamber
First drafts in minutes
Party names, the property address, and dates merge from the matter, so you start from a filled-in draft rather than a blank page.
Every document looks like your chamber
Use your own precedents and export in your house font, with the chamber signature or stamp when you choose.
Work through a poor connection
If the network drops while you edit, the draft is kept on your device and carries on when you are back online.

Documents questions
- Can I use my own precedents?
- Yes. Upload your .docx precedents, tag them by matter type and state, and generate them straight onto a matter like any other template.
- Are the starter templates ready to file?
- They are starting points. Each starter says so on the page — replace it with your chamber’s approved wording and particulars before use.
- What format do I get?
- A Word document (.docx) that opens in Microsoft Word, WPS Office, or LibreOffice.
- Where are documents kept?
- On the matter they belong to, where your team — and, if you invite them, the client or tenant through the portal — can find them.
